Vista Window Film
the clear choice for window protection & solar control products

Why Use Window Film?

The ever increasing amount of glass being used today in homes and commercial establishments make Vista and Llumar attractive products to recommend.

Residential clients like the comfort it provides by letting the light in while keeping excessive heat out. They can enjoy an unobstructed view without worrying about their fine furnishings being ruined.

Commercial clients like the substantial energy savings. Also, because Vista and Llumar distinguishes between heat and light, work areas will remain well illuminated while being protected from excessive heat and annoying glare.

The main features of Vista and Llumar solar control window film are that it:

  • Reduces fading
  • Prevents excessive
    heat gain
  • Reduces annoying glare
Will it kill my plants?

On the contrary, most plants actually do better with window film, because they don't "burn" on sunny days.

Isn't the film that shiny stuff?
Unless someone requests a highly reflective film, most of the films for residential and small film productcommercial are designed with very low reflectivity. Even clear glass reflects at certain times of the day at certain angles. Our window film reacts similarly.

Isn't it dark?
Our most popular films are neutral in appearance and are barely visible at all. We do have tints available on request.

Won't it scratch?
The special, patented scratch-resistant coating on Vista and Llumar products stand up extremely well to normal everyday wear and tear, and make cleaning trouble-free. Even squeegees and common window cleaners such as Windex won't harm it.

Will it last?
Vista and Llumar products have been specially designed for years of performance in demanding commercial and residential applications. Both are provided with a Manufacturer's Warranty, lifetime for residential use and 10 years for commercial use.

Doesn't it discolor?
The metal alloys used in Vista and Llumar window films are highly color stable. It is the dyes in the old-type films that will discolor.

What are the cost factors for filming windows?

  1. width multiplied by height measurements
  2. window location
  3. shape & condition of frames
  4. window preparation
  5. amount of waste created when trimming the film

What are the facts about fading?
These three factors account for over 90% of all fading:

  1. Ultraviolet Radiation
  2. Heat [infra-red]
  3. Visible Light

Clear single pane glass, 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch, will reject 23% to 28% of ultraviolet rays. Insulated glass is slightly better at 36% to 41%. Vista and Llumar window films installed on glass reject 99.9% of all damaging ultraviolet radiation! No window film can completely eliminate fading but, Vista and Llumar solar control window films will provide the maximum protection.

I’ve heard about the “Four Seasons of Fading”. What does this mean?
While most would consider summer to be the season the sun does the most damage to furniture, draperies, carpets, etc., a closer examination of the facts will show this isn't the case. Though the sun is "hotter" during the summer months, ultraviolet penetration is the same all year long. In fact, in many situations it can actually be worse during the fall, winter and spring. How is this possible?

  • The leaves are gone and with them the shade they provide.
  • There is a greater tendency to leave your curtains open to let the "heat" in.
  • The sun is at a lower angle to the earth, allowing U.V. rays to enter your home more directly.
  • South facing windows are exposed to U.V. from dawn to dusk.
